I don't think it's that simple. we won't know all the gory details until years after, just like other wars. I would not trust the government who started this war with my son's life. maybe the politicians/defense contractors should each have to play a sacrificial part in the conflicts that they endorse and throw all our young lives and this country's money at.(some in places that we have covertly been supporting and supplying with weaponry and trained militia from past conflicts that "seemed like a good idea at the time -like Osama!", and are now being bought up and used by extremist lunatics against our troops.) I will honor our service men and women no matter when they come home. God bless every one of them, and bring them home safe and soon. My dad was in WW2 and my brother Vietnam. I've heard lots of first hand accounts, and do not have the bravery that they have to muster when they are stuck "over there" for a very long time and away from family. I hope they come home soon, and that then we all work together on this country for a while.
sorry -I did not express my sincere respect and gratitude for every veteran and active service person. I always pray for and honor them. and that's more imoprtant than my opinion about war.
Sh-t, if that's why our country fights, just retract the statements - so everyone can come on home, right? I'm no liberal, and have served in the military. I am a strong supporter our troops, but also of the right to have and express an opinion against this war. I love this country that way.
Damn, I didn’t intend to start a war (bad choice of words) on the Cormus Blob. I was really only trying to make a couple of points. When I can home from Nam, folks wouldn’t even look me in the eye when I walked through the airport. These are good young kids and they’re volunteers. Just thank ‘em when you see ‘em. Additionally, coming home with honor has a bit to do with having successfully completed your mission. One of the blessings of living in this country is that we can have open debate like this without fear of retribution – didn’t happen in Nazi Germany or Saddam’s Iraq. How ‘bout we just declare a truce!!! Thanks again Corm.
Dear anonymous, It’s not BS if you consider that our government trained, armed and subsidized Bin Laden and his terrorist militia during the Russian occupation/war with Afghanistan. And for the past 7 years while we’ve been so busy digging a bottomless pit to throw money into over there in the cradle of civilization, it’s my guess that he is the one responsible for the support, arming and logistics of the countless insurgents/al-Qaeda who pour into Iraq from Afghan/Pakistan to assault our troops now. Here is what I would LOVE to be able to say to the families of victims of 911 “hey look, we got the devil who did this awful thing and he will pay a price”, unfortunately I can’t. I’m sorry to whomever is offended. I do love this country and honor the military – I want them to have the best of whatever they need to do their job and stay alive. That’s all. The powers that be are not always good stewards of their resources - that has become abundantly clear lately - the military is also a 'resource' to many of them - to me the military is men and women who deserve the very best possible consideration in every way. I thank service men and women whenever I see them, they are braver than I am. I hope it's over soon.

bring 'em home...
It is a simple line with a powerful meaning. It is from a 1966 Pete Seeger song. It is supposed to be evocative and provoke thought and discussion.
It did.
