One Laptop Per Child

A couple of years ago I joined a group called one laptop per child. They donate lap top computers to children all over the world to help educate them and therefore give hope to their future. I believe that education is the key to understanding and perhaps the best way to find peace in this crazy world. 'Give a man a fish and he will not be hungry today, teach a man to fish and he will never be hungry' Here's their website if you want to check into this further.... http://laptop.org/en/laptop

Great idea and wonderful thought to give to those unfortunate, especially our children. Problem is, is that we spend so much time giving to other countries that we forget about our own. Look what's happening to our own children here in the US and our economy as well. Are we so busy helping others that we cannot see that we are neglecting our own as a result? USA USA USA USA USA USA!!!

Sorry, but I am having difficulty with the whole charity deal right now. Look at all the money that was collected to help out Haiti and all the people that chipped in. How is this possible, yet we are trillions of dollars in debt????

Compassion for others only strengthens us as a people.

I agree though, we tend not to do for ouselves as we should. Take a look at the 9th district in New Orleans. When was Katrina?!

Very inspiring, Cormey!
For those concerned with the homefront, there are also many charities and non-profits in place right now that help children and the indigent in the USA, including those programs that can target specific regions, cities, etc.
